Comedy Women In Print

My time as Director of Social at CWIP started when I met founder, Helen Lederer, at a comedy event in London. She had founded a comedy writing competition for women (Comedy Women In Print), and needed somebody to do CWIP’s New Business. Luckily I had at least 3 weeks experience in making cold calls to Marketing leaders who didn’t want to hear from me.

Once we’d secured a few brand deals, I moved to the content side of the business. Helen handed me the login to the socials, and said go. What started with instagram infographics and improv sketches edited on iMovie, turned to launching flash fiction competitions about pubes and leading a social team towards event launches that showcased some of my favourite authors of all time.

It was fun. And chaotic. And my god, women are so, so funny.

You can tell this is really old because the term Gen Z didn’t exist yet and I absolutely didn’t know I was one.
